Last summer, our trip was interrupted by Hurricane Dean, which forced us to evacuate Riviera Maya and take a harrowing trip back home. While we didnt get to enjoy our vacation (only one day before the hurricane rolled in), we did get reimbursed every penny of our lost trip AND the extra travel expenses we incurred while evacuating thanks to your free weather insurance! So wonderful that my lady and I were married there, on the beach. From the moment of arrival, everyone was friendly, always smiling and saying hello, Ola!. The suite was stunningly beautiful and the room service was beyond anyone's expectations. The food, what can I say, excellent and lots of it. The buffets were outstanding which included Paella and other exotic dishes. The restaurants compared to world class, gourmet restaurants in New York City, where I am from. The Gourmet, The Mexican Restaurant, The Seafood Restaurant, and the Oriental-all outstanding. The service was impeccable. Simply put, excellent food and more than you could possibly eat. The pool, both I and my wife adored. Beautiful, Clean, never too cold. Seriously, I stayed at the pool at least 5 hours per day. Many pool activities to keep you busy and laughing. The beach is stunning. A gorgeous blue and so inviting. You will appreciate both considering how hot the days are, always above 90 and humid. Brief rain showers help to lower the humidity for a while, but it is hot, hot, hot. The only thing that disappointed us were the drinks. Extremely weak. I tried all of the bars. The main bar is the best but by no means outstanding. The service is always excellent but the drinks are more like sweet drinks for children. I had to resort to drinking more beer from the bottle because the draft beer was too warm. Overall, I loved the trip and thank Magalis Santana for all of her help and a special thank you to "Big Mama" who is so sweet and always smiling. The stay at the Grand Palladium Resort was wonderful. For those we love pools, eating, and beaches and sunny weather with total relaxation, Grand Palladium is the place. No need to worry about where to eat or what to do. The resort has everything. I do suggest you bring lots of $1 bills. Our "agent" worked with us over the course of three days to get just what we wanted at a great price. When we arrived, the resort was wonderful and we received special vouchers allowing us to experience a day sail and massage. Going to another county isscary enough right now, but on the "cheap". I had lots of worries, but it proved to be the best vacation my fiancee have taken together. We have spent thousands more and has less fun and more bumps. We went to Mexico and had a blast with an all inclusive. We visited the eco theme parks and just loved the trip. Cheap Carribean was right there when we called to get flight info after normal travel agent hours. I can't say enough about the surprizingly excellent package we received. We knew we wanted to go to St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands, and in fact already had our plane tickets thanks to frequent flyer miles. We just had yet to book our hotel, and it was coming down to the wire. When I saw the deal for Wyndham Sugar Bay, my jaw dropped! Four nights, all-inclusive, oceanview room and a $100 American Express Traveler Cheque...all for only around $1150 TOTAL! "Surely this is a mistake!" I thought, and I stared at my computer for about 10 minutes. Then I jumped on it. I started telling people what a great deal I got, and everyone thought that it must be a scam, including my fiance. Listening to them, I called the hotel to confirm that we did in fact have a room. And they did confirm it. My fears began to subside. I still had concerns because I'd heard mixed reviews about the hotel, mainly in regards to the staff being rude. However, when we arrived, I learned my concerns were unfounded. And as soon as we stepped into our hotel room, we were greeted by the most breathtaking view I could have possibly hoped for. On top of the amazing deal we got on our room, we also discovered we also had vouchers awaiting us...free island tour for two, free skyride for two on the tram, free entrance for two into Coral World, free submarine ride for two on Atlantis. We couldn't believe it!! We were absolutely THRILLED! All these things we'd planned to do...were now FREE! This was such a relief as we were on somewhat of a tight budget after the wedding!! The activities were wonderful, the staff of the hotel was so super-friendly, the resort was beautiful, and the all-inclusive deal made things so much easier!I can't thank you enough!! This was exactly what I'd wanted for our honeymoon, and beyond!! I actually cried a little bit the day we had to leave! I dont know how you gave us the amazing deal that you did, but I hope the deals keep coming. We travel to the caribbean twice a year so we are already planning our next destination.Just wanted to let you know we loved the Secrets Maroma Resort. We loved the hotel decor, food, pools and beach. We booked a partial oceanview room, but I personally think they should call it a tropical view. We were on the 2nd floor so I think maybe from the 4th floor you may see the ocean. However, this did not matter to us. The room was beautiful. The hotel has traveratine tile throughout. The four poster bed and armoire are a nice touch. I have never been in a hotel before that gives nice sized toiletries, plus sunscreen. We loved the Portofino restaurant. The wait service was excellent. Everything was "a pleasure". EVERYONE on the island was very nice-from the customs officials to the the average person you pass on the sidewalk. The people of Barbados are very helpful and trustworthy! We did not purchase the transfers and took a chance with taxis!! The driver that took us from the airport to the Amaryllis Resort showed up to take us back to the airport right on time!!! This was an experience that I will not forget!!The operators at CheapCaribbean were so helpful also. My questions were answered very professionally and timely. There was not one problelm with making the reservations nor with arriving at the resort. I had so many people telling me that it was a bad idea!! I knew that I wanted a round trip deal with an all inclusive hotel. The first time I ever had an all inclusive hotel was in Los Cabos Mexico, where we met up with friends at wedding. That was a nice hotel and great service, BUT that hotel was nothing on the Gran Palledium!!! I enjoyed myself every bit of the trip from the time I got off the plane in Jamaica to the time I got on the plane to leave!! Any upgrades I wanted to do where on the cheapcaribean website so I had my transfers prebooked. I went Horse back riding and we had beautiful healthy looking horses!! We road the horses out to the ocean!! I did the sunset tour!! The only problem with the tour was that we didn't know that we could leave the beach and wonder around. We had a beach and free food and drinks at our resort, but the sunset at Ricks Cafe was so worth the 4 hour time spent at the beach!! I also jumped off the cliff at Ricks!!! Hey for anybody that is thinking " I may not want to do this trip cause I need to talk to somebody... blah blah blah..." Let me tell you, I am a regular hard working Chicago Police officer, I pay bills and save up just like everyone else!! Cheapcaribbean is the travel site for me for now when heading to any of those destination places!!! This affordable!!!! If you have champaigne taste on a beer bottle budget, then you can act like royalty with cheapcaribbean.com Cheap only implies the relative cost, because I met people staying at the same resort that I stay at and they payed twice as much as I did!!! This hotel/resort is very large and perhaps a bit impersonal compared to other Jamaican destinations but my wife and I still enjoyed the experience based on the money we spent for the trip. For the most part, we think you get what you pay for. Examples: the rooms are large and comfortable but the bed sheets and pillows are poor quality polyester blends. The property is large and pretty but the beaches are kind of small and rocky. The food wasn't the best we've had in Jamaica but the staff are as helpful as can be.Overall, we liked our vacation but will try something new when we go again.
